147- AND IF THEY REJECT YOU SAY: “YOUR LORD HAS AN ALL EMBRACING MERCY, AS FOR HIS POWERED, IT CAN NOT BE TURNED AWAY FROM THE TRANSGRESSORS”. 

Allah’s Mercy embraces every one and every thing.  In the meantime, no one or thing has any power to defend themselves from Allah’s punishment and power if they are to be punished. 

Allah the Highest often speaks of His Punishment and Mercy in the mean time.  Allah the Highest said: “INDEED, YOUR LORD IS SWIFT IN PUNISHMENT AND IS MOST FORGIVING AND MOST COMPASSIONATE”.  (S: 6 A: 165)

And said: “AND YOUR LORD HAS FORGIVENESS FOR PEOPLE IN SPITE OF THEIR TRANSGRESSION AND YOUR LORD IS SEVERE IN PUNISHMENT”.  (S: 13 A: 6)

And said: “INFORM MY SLAVES THAT I AM THE MOST FORGIVING AND THE MOST COMPASSIONATE, AND THAT MY PUNISHMENT IS THE PAINFUL PUNISHMENT”.  (S: 14 A: 149-150)

 And said: “HE IS THE FORGIVING OF SIN, WHO ACCEPTS REPENTING, THE STERN IN PUNISHMENT”.  (S: 40 A: 3)

And said: “THE STRIKE OF YOUR LORD IS SEVERE * HE STARTS AND ENDS ALL THINGS * YET HE IS THE FORGIVING AND THE PLEASANT AND TENDER”.  (S: 85 A: 12-14)

Therefore the Muslim should always be on the guard to avoid Allah’s anger and punishment, in the mean time working and hoping for His forgiveness, mercy and compassion.  We hope that Allah the Highest will embrace us all with it.
