Araf 10

10 – AND WE ESTABLISHED YOU IN CONTROL OF THE EARTH, AND WE MADE YOUR LIVELIHOOD THEREIN, BUT SELDOM DO YOU THANK.

Allah the Highest put man on Earth and made all there is in it to serve him, and put him in control of every thing there is in it.  “HE IS WHO MADE ALL THERE IS ON EARTH FOR YOUR SERVICE”.  (S: 22 A: 65)

Indeed, both the sun and the moon are there to serve mankind.  “AND HE MADE THE NIGHT AND DAY AND THE SUN AND THE MOON”.  (S: 16 A: 12)

Without the Sun, there will be no light or warmth on earth.  The Moon gives us light at night among other benefits to mankind.  There is no doubt that mankind has a special status among Allah’s creation to put him in charge of so much and to give him control over all of the Earth.  Allah the Highest said: “AND WE HONOURED THE CHILDREN OF ADAM, AND WE CARRIED THEM ON LAND AND SEA, AND PROVIDED THEM OF ALL GOOD AND PURE THINGS AND FAVOURED THEM A GREAT DEAL OVER MANY OF WHAT WE CREATED”.  (S: 17 A: 70)

We are the only ones of Allah’s creation Allah the Highest placed in control of every thing on the Earth, and allowed us to use every thing there is on earth, on land and see, on and under its surface.  We can use it all for our livelihood.  Allah the Highest gave us the means to use all that, the most important of all is the mind that thinks and invents, without which we could not have been able to use all these provisions and gifts.

In fact, there is no way we can count Allah’s bounties to us, yet we are seldom thankful.  “AND IF YOU TRY TO COUNT THE BOUNTIES OF ALLAH, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COUNTY THEM, BUT MAN IS MOST UNGRACIOUS AND MOST UNGRATEFUL”.  (S: 14 A: 34)

We take what Allah the Highest has given us for granted.  As if it should have been there.  We are never thankful for the air we breathe, the water we drink, food we eat etc.  Should their amounts diminish on Earth, we will have great difficulties, and might even perish.  Without all these bounties, life will be impossible on Earth.

The problems we have with the environment now of global warming, rising sea levels, rise in the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and thinning of the Ozone layer, which adversely affect our life on earth, are due to our abuse of the resources Allah the Highest has given us on Earth.  There is enough to sustain good life on Earth, if we use the minds Allah the Highest have given us and manage the Earth resources wisely.  However, our greed and short sight ruins life for us and for other species on Earth, the planet Allah the Highest has given us to live on.  We unwisely manage the Resources Allah the Highest gave us and other creatures on Earth.  A number of species become extinct every day, and if things go on this way, our turn will surely come.
