11- LIKE THE PEOPLE OF PHARAOH AND THOSE BEFORE THEM, THEY DISBELIEVED IN OUR AYAHS AND ALLAH PUNISHED THEM BECAUSE OF THEIR SINS, AND ALLAH IS SEVERE IN PUNISHMENT. 12- TELL THOSE WHO DISBELIEVE: “YOU WILL BE DEFEATED AND TAKEN ALL TO THE HELL-FIRE, AN EVIL PLACE IT IS”. 13- YOU HAD A SIGN IS TWO GROUPS THAT ME, ONE IS FIGHTING IN THE CAUSE OF ALLAH AND THE OTHER DISBELIEVING, THEY SEE THEM TWICE AS MANY, FOR ALLAH SUPPORTS WITH HIS POWER WHOM HE DESIRES, IN THIS THERE AN EXAMPLE FOR THOSE OF VISION.
Allah the Highest is giving an example of those who disbelieve having denied Allah’s evidence and signs. Their wealth and manpower did not protect them from Allah the Highest or His punishment. The Example here is that of pharaoh and his people they disbelieved, after seeing many signs and miracles. When Allah the Highest decided to punish them severely, their power, numbers and wealth did not help or protect them. Their defeat and destruction itself was a miracle, as Allah the Highest split the Red Sea open for the Children of Israel to cross, but when Pharaoh’s army tried to cross, they drowned. “IF ALLAH SUPPORTS YOU, NO ONE CAN DEFEAT YOU, BUT IF HE ABANDONS YOU, WHO IS HE WHO CAN SUPPORT YOU AFTER HIM, IN ALLAH THE BELIEVERS SHOULD HAVE THEIR TRUST”. (S: 4 A: 147) After the Battle of Badr, Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him called the Jews of Medina to the Market of the Jewish tribe, Bano Quinoqa, and said to them: “O Jewish People, embrace Islam or Allah may inflict on you what he inflicted on Qurish”. They said: “O Mohamed, do not be proud because you killed some of Qurish, they were weal and did not know how to fight. By Allah, if you fight us, you shall see that we can really fight, and that you have never met the likes of us before” (Ibn Is, haq) Allah the Highest answers them everlasting statements: 1- The Jews will be defeated as Qurish was defeated. This happened as they three Jewish tribes of Medina fought with the Muslims and were defeated and driven out of Medina. Also the Muslims fought the Jews of Khyber and defeated them. This happened with other disbelievers throughout the world.
Allah’s promise to us did not change or run out. It is conditioned however by us being righteous Muslims, standing firmly for our faith and putting our trust in Allah the Highest.
2- The disbelievers of all kinds will be gathered together and taken to the Hell-Fire, the worst and most evil place in the Hereafter.
3- Allah the Highest tells us how the two sides saw each other in the Battle of Badr. It seems that at one stage each group saw the other as fewer than they really were, so that they get encouraged to fight. Allah the Highest said: “AS HE (ALLAH) MAKES YOU SEE THEM FEW IN YOUR EYES, AND MAKE YOU SEE THEM FEW IN THEIR EYES, SO THAT ALLAH MAY ACCOMPLISH A MATTER WHICH WAS ORDAINED TO HAPPEN”. (S:8 A:44)
Yet at a later stage when the two armies met, Allah the Highest changed the way they saw each other. “YOU HAD A SIGN IS TWO GROUPS THAT ME, ONE IS FIGHTING IN THE CAUSE OF ALLAH AND THE OTHER DISBELIEVING, THEY SEE THEM TWICE AS MANY”. The Muslim army was 315 and the disbelievers about 1000. The Muslims saw the disbelievers twice as many as the Muslims were i.e. 600, while in fact they were three times or more (1000). This meant less fear for the Muslims. In the mean time, the disbelievers say the Muslims twice as many as they were i.e. 2000, which struck fear into their hearts. This was part of Allah’s support for the Muslims in the battle of Badr; they were also supported by the Angels.
The battle of Bard was very important, for it was the first real military encounter between the Muslims and the disbelievers who lost in spite of their larger numbers and better equipment. In that battle, Allah the Highest showed His total support for the Muslims.
We should learn that in battles between faith and disbelief, and battles for principles, numbers and equipment are not the deciding factors. Allah’s support is the deciding factor. This Journal Entry's Comment Board There are no comments on this post yet, be the first to leave one.
