23- DID YOU NOT SEE THOSE WHO WERE GIVEN A SHARE OF THE BOOK, WHEN CALLED, FOR ALLAH’S BOOK TO JUDGE BETWEEN THEM, A GROUP OF THEM TURNED THEIR BACKS, DECLINING?

24- THIS IS BECAUSE THEY SAID: “THE FIRE WILL NOT TOUCH US EXCEPT FOR NUMBERED DAYS”, AND THEY WERE DECEIVED BY THEIR OWN FORGERIES OF THEIR RELIGION.

25- THEN HOW WILL THEY BE WHEN WE GATHER THEM ON A DAY ABOUT WHICH THERE IS NO DOUBT, AND EVERY SOUL WILL BE PAID IN FULL FOR WHAT IT HAS EARNED, AND THEY WILL NOT BE DEALT WITH UNJUSTLY.

It was reported that Allah’s messenger, prayer and peace upon him, went to the Torah school in Medina, and called upon them to join Islam.  They asked him as to which religion is he following?  He said that he was following the Religion of Ibrahim.  They said that Ibrahim, peace upon him, was Jewish.  Then Allah’s messenger, prayer and peace upon him, asked them to refer to the Torah, their own book, in this matter, but they declined.

On other occasions, Mohamed, prayer and peace upon him, disagreed with the Jews and with the Christians on some matters of faith.  He asked them to refer to their own books, Torah and Engeel, but they declined.

Unfortunately holy books have been altered over the years according to Allah the Highest in the Quran, Who said: “DO YOU HOPE THAT THEY WILL BELIEVE FOR YOU WHEN SOME OF THEM WOULD HEAR ALLAH’S WORDS THEN PERVERT IT’S MEANING, AFTER THEY UNDERSTOOD IT, KNOWINGLY? (S:2 A:75)

“WOE TO THOSE WHO WRITE THE BOOK WITH THEIR OWN HANDS THEN SAY: ‘THIS IS FROM ALLAH’, WHILE IT IS NOT FROM ALLAH, IN ORDER TO SELL IT FOR A MISERLY PRICE.  WOE TO THEM BECAUSE OF WHAT THEIR HANDS HAVE WRITTEN AND WOE TO THEM BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY HAVE EARNED”.    (S:2 A:79) 

Alterations and changes became integral parts of different faiths, believed by its followers.  One of them is that they may only go the Hell-Fire for a few days, and then they will go to the Paradise, whatever they do.  As if having few days in the Hell-Fire is nothing to worry about.

Allah the Highest reminds them of the Day of Resurrection and Judgment, when all mankind will be gathers to be judged and recompensed for it’s deeds.  Whatever alterations or changes they made will not help them then, for Allah the Highest has the original manuscript. Naturally the religious leaders will be held more responsible for such alterations and changes.

Changes and alterations of scripture is a serious sin.  It does not lead to the misleading of one but millions.  It affects the way people live and the way they see Allah, Faith, His messengers and His Law.

Changes and alterations might be made to make a religion accommodate changes in people and society, or to accommodate new prevailing views and policies.  Allah’s principles and commands do not change.  They are meant to put our life right, not for us to change them to accommodate our society and whatever we wish to do with out life.  Allah meant to change us, not for us to change His Law.
