Al-Emran 26-27

26- SAY: ALLAH THE SOVEREIGN OF THE KINGDOM, YOU GIVE SOVEREIGNTY TO WHOM YOU WILL ًًAND TAKE SOVEREIGNTY AWAY FROM WHOM YOU WILL, YOU EXALT WHOM YOU WILL AND HUMILIATE WHOM YOU WILL.  ALL GOODNESS IS IN YOUR HANDS, YOU HAVE POWER OVER ALL THINGS.

27- YOU CAUSE THE NIGHT TO PASS THROUGH THE DAY, AND CAUSE THE DAY TO PASS THROUGH THE NIGHT, YOU BRING FORTH THE LIVING FROM THE DEAD AND YOU BRING FORTH THE DEAD FROM THE LIVING, AND PROVIDE WHOM YOU WILL WITHOUT LIMIT.

1-    Allah the Highest tells us about Himself, he is the sovereign of the Kingdom.  He is the King above all kings.  He makes kings to be kings and takes the kingdom away from them whenever He wants.

With such a conviction, the Muslim should not worry about his future or worry because of someone or something; this is because one should know that every thing is in Allah’s hands.  We should do what we can, but know that it is part of fate.  Allah the Highest said: “WHATEVER AFFLICTION AFFLICTED THE EARTH OR YOURSELVES IS WRITTEN IN A BOOK BEFORE IT’S CREATION, THIS IS EASY FOR ALLAH * IN ORDER THAT YOU DO NOT GREIF FOR WHAT YOU MISSED NOR BE OVERJOYED WITH WHAT YOU WERE GIVEN, FOR ALLAH DOES NOT LOVE ANY PROUD ARROGANT”  (S:57 A:22,23)

Allah’s messenger, prayer and peace upon him, said: “If Allah is to punish those in His Heavens and those in His Earth, He would punish them without being unjust to them, but if He has mercy upon them, it would have been better for them than their deeds.  If you have as much as the mountain of Ohud of gold to spend in the cause of Allah, It will never be  accepted from you until you believe in Fate, all of it,  to know that what happened to you would not have missed you and what missed you would not have come to you.  If you die believing otherwise, you will go to the Fire” (Ma: Moqademah; 10 & A: 5:182)

2-    Allah the Highest has full power over every thing.  Allah the Highest is exalted in that what He does and what He decides is final, no one can change it.  No one can alter or stop what He is doing.  Allah has the final say and the final decision.

There was a time when Allah the Highest gave the Muslims sovereignty over a large part of the world which was then known.  They were closer to Him and abided by their faith then, they also worked hard on making this life on Earth better, to advance it and improve it.  They gained Allah’s support then.  It is not enough to believe and pray and worship, we also have to put in the effort needed in this life and to work hard and try to have the knowledge and skills to advance our life and our world.

3-    Exaltation and Honour, as well as Humiliation come from Allah the Highest.  They are all trials and tests for us on Earth.  They are all a part of the big scenario written for us to go through in this life, and it all is in Allah’s Hands.

4-    “ALL GOODNESS IS IN YOUR HANDS, YOU HAVE POWER OVER ALL THINGS”

The good things in life like money, power, children, women, property etc. tend to be very trying to the believer’s heart.  We like to think that we are the cause of whatever good that happened to us.  That we achieved wealth, power etc. through our knowledge and work only, not that they are Allah’s bounty.  But it is far wiser to admit to Allah’s bounties upon us.

5-    “YOU CAUSE THE NIGHT TO PASS THROUGH THE DAY, AND CAUSE THE DAY TO PASS THROUGH THE NIGHT”

As if the day and night are interlocked, they exist together.  As we know now, we have daylight when our side of the Earth is facing the sun and then darkness when it is not facing the sun.  We realize that the daylight and night darkness come from each other, they exist together, while the Earth rotates.

6-    “YOU BRING FORTH THE LIVING FROM THE DEAD AND YOU BRING FORTH THE DEAD FROM THE LIVING”

An example of this is a dry seed with no sign of life for years.  When planted in the soil and watered, it soon bursts into life, germinates and grows into a living plant.  Then this plant will produce seeds which dry and fall on the ground and might remain lifeless for years.

7-    “AND PROVIDE WHOM YOU WILL WITHOUT LIMIT”

There is no limit to Allah’s Kingdom and Allah’s bounty and generosity.  Allah the Highest gives without fearing His wealth running out, therefore there is no limit to his giving.  Allah’s messenger, prayer and peace upon him, said that Allah the Highest said: “If the early ones of you and the last ones of you, the living and the dead, those who are moist and those who are dry (long dead), gathered in one place and each one asked for the most he hopes for and I gave each what they asked, this will not decrease My Kingdom by as much as what a needle holds of water when it is immersed and taken out of it” (T:Quiamah;48 & Ma:Zohd;30)
