45- AND THE ANGELS SAID: “ALLAH GIVES THE GLADE TIDINGS OF A WORD FROM, HIS NAME IS THE MESEH (MESSIAH) ESA (JESUS) THE SON OF MARIAM, AN HONOURABLE IN THIS LIFE AND IN THE HEREAFTER AND OF THOSE TO ALLAH. 46- AND SPEAKING TO PEOPLE, WHILE STILL IN THE CRADLE AND WHEN GROWN UP, AND ONE OF THE RIGHTEOUS”. 47- MARIAM SAID: “MY LORD, HOW WILL I HAVE A SON, WHEN I WAS NEVER TOUCHED BY HUMAN?” HE SAID: “SUCH IS YOUR LORD, HE CREATES WHATEVER HE WILLS, WHENEVER HE DECREES A MATTER, HE SAYS TO IT: BE, AND IT WILL BE. Allah the Highest told Mariam through His angels the good news about the birth of Esa (Jesus). She asked how this will happen, when she was not touched by a human being. This phrase means that she did not have intercourse with a man. Touch has often been used in the Quran to mean sexual intercourse. But it is Allah’s will, and Allah’s will does not need any means. This pregnancy and child birth was a severe trial for Mary. Most people suspected her morality and accused her of adultery. Allah the Highest however protected her and also showed every one that this child was very special when he performed the miracle of speaking to people while still an infant in the cradle. Allah the Highest also comforted Mariam in telling her that her child will be honourable in this life and in the Hereafter, and a righteous man. Allah the Highest also called Jesus peace upon him the “MESEH”, meaning the Messiah, who is the savior, as he was to save his people from misguidance leading to Allah’s Anger and Punishment. It is important to note that Allah the Highest never called Jesus son in the Quran. Indeed Allah the Highest called him always “JESUS THE SON OF MARIAM (MARY)”. Allah the Highest called him Allah’s messenger clearly: “JESUS THE SON OF MARIAM IS ALLAH’S MESSENGER, HIS WORD HE SENT DOWN TO MARIAM AND A SPIRIT FROM HIM”. (S: 4 A: 171) Adam peace be upon him was created from dust without a father or mother, and was a messenger of Allah the Highest not his son. Allah the Highest said about him: “THE SIMILITUDE OF JESUS BEFORE ALLAH IS THAT OF ADAM, HE CREATED HIM FROM DUST, AND SAID TO HIM: ‘BE’ AND HE WAS”. (S: 3 A: 59) Deducting that Jesus is the son of God due to his immaculate conception, is theorizing. We are not allowed to make theories concerning our religion in Islam. We have to depend on authenticated references. These are the Quran and the authenticated Hadith. Only what is based on what is right will be right. What is based on what is wrong will certainly be wrong.
