52- WHEN JESUS FELT THEIR DISBELIEVE, HE SAID:  “WHO ARE MY SUPPORTERS TO ALLAH?”  THE DISCIPLES SAID: “WE ARE ALLAH’S SUPPORTERS, WE BELIEVE IN ALLAH AND BEAR WITNESS THAT WE ARE MUSLIMS”

53- “OUR LORD WE BELIEVE IN WHAT YOU SENT DOWN AND FOLLOWED THE MESSENGER, SO WRITE US AMONG THOSE WHO BEAR WITNESS”.

Jesus peace upon him felt that the Jews he was sent to disbelieved.  He asked his followers then as to who are his supporters? The disciples declared their commitment to be the supporters of Jesus in the Cause of Allah.  Being the supporter of a prophet in the cause of God is not an easy task.  This is an undertaking which requires a great deal of effort and sacrifice, and tolerating hardship.

Mohamed prayer and peace upon him had his companions supporting him, first in Makah, then in Medina.  They had to fight and suffer a great deal in the cause of Allah.  They helped to deliver the message.  This meant that their task did not end with the death of Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him, for their commitment is to Allah’s message.

Allah the Highest does not need support from any one, but we need to fight in His cause and to follow his Path.  Allah the Highest said: “HE WHO FIGHTS IN THE CAUSE OF ALLAH, HE IS FIGHTING FOR HIS OWN SELF, FOR ALLAH HAS NO NEED FOR ANY ONE”.  (S:29 A:6)

However, there are always those whose words are never followed by actions, nor are based in deeps conviction.  Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said about them: “There is not a prophet Allah sent to a nation before who did not have disciples and companions from his nation, who follow his example and obey his commands. They were followed by people who say what they do not mean, and do what they are not commanded.  He who fights them with his had is a believer, he who fights them with his tongue is a believer, he who fights them with his heart is a believer.  He who does not, he does not have as much as a grain of Khardal of belief”.  (M: Eman; 80 & A: 1:458)

The true disciples and supports of the prophets are those who follow their example, and obey their commands.  Mohamed prayer and peace upon him had many companions, but only one Hawary (disciple) who was Al-Zobir Ibn El-Awam.   When the Medina was under siege and Allah the Highest sent a strong wind, Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “Who will go to bring me news about the army of the enemy?”  Al-Zobir said: “I will”.  Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: ““Who will go to bring me news about the army of the enemy?”.  Al-Zobir said: “I will”.  Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “Every prophet has a disciple, and my disciple is Al-Zobir”.  (B: Jehad, 40-41 & M: Fadael El-Sahabah; 13 & Ma: Moqademah; 11 & A: 1; 89)

The Hawarden (disciples) of Jesus peace upon him:

1-    Supported Jesus peace upon him and his message.

2-    Declared their belief in Jesus and what was sent to him of guidance.

3-    Followed Jesus peace upon him and his example during his life and after.

4-    Testified  that they are Muslims (Submitter to Allah the Highest)

They were therefore written down among the witnesses of Jesus as messenger, and Allah the Highest as the only and only God, also witnesses over their own people and their faith and deeds.  This is a very noble and honourable status.
