54- AND THEY PLOTTED AND PLANNED SECRETLY, AND ALLAH PLANNED SECRETLY.  INDEED, ALLAH IS THE BEST OF THE PLANNERS.

55- AS ALLAH SAID: “O JESUS, I WILL TAKE YOUR SOUL, RAISE YOU UP TO ME, PURIFY YOU FROM THOSE WHO DISBELIEVE, AND I WILL MAKE THOSE WHO FOLLOW YOU ABOVE THOSE WHO DISBELIEVED UNTIL THE DAY OF RESURRECTION, THEN YOU WILL ALL RETURN TO ME, AND I WILL JUDGE BETWEEN YOU CONCERNING THE MATTERS IN WHICH YOU DISAGREED”

56- “AS FOR THOSE WHO DISBELIEVED, I WILL PUNISH THEM SEVERELY IN THIS LOWER LIFE AND IN THE HEREAFTER, AND THEY WILL HAVE NO SUPPORTERS”. 

57- “AS FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVED AND DID RIGHTEOUS DEEDS, THEY WILL BE RECOMPENSED IN FULL, AND ALLAH DOES NOT LOVE THE UNJUST”.

58- THIS IS WHAT WE RECITE TO YOU OF THE AYAHS AND THE WISE ZEKR (REMINDER).

The Jews plotted to murder Jesus peace upon him.  If they believed in God at all they would have been aware that Allah the Highest would have known about their plotting and would protect His messenger.  Just as what they did with Mohamed prayer and peace upon him  “WHEN THEY MEET THOSE WHO BELIEVE, THEY SAY: ‘WE BELIEVE’, BUT WHEN THEY MEET IN PRIVATE THEY SAY (TO EACH OTHER): ‘DO YOU TELL THEM WHAT ALLAH REVEALED TO YOU  SO THAT THEY MAY USE IT TO ARGUE AGAINST YOU BEFORE YOUR LORD, DO YOU HAVE NO UNDERSTANDING * DO THEY NOT KNOW THAT ALLAH KNOWS WHAT THEY HIDE AND WHAT THEY REVEAL?”  (S: 2 A: 76-77) 

They felt safe from Allah the Highest.  Only the disbelievers feel safe from Allah the Highest. 

Allah the Highest foiled their plot and tells us what happened.  Allah the Highest took the soul of Jesus and raised his body to Him.  Allah the Highest promised to make those who followed Jesus above those who disbelieved in him up to the Day of Resurrection, when Allah the  Highest will judge us all, and each one will know the right from the wrong. 

Jesus peace upon him is to return to earth later, to fight the False Christ (Or antichrist) and kill him.  Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him told us that Jesus will return to Earth to fight and kill the False Christ. (M: Fetan; 110-116)

So Jesus peace upon him did not die the way we all die, but was raised awaiting the time for his return.  The same term used here is the one Allah the Highest used for sleep also: “HE IS WHO ‘YATAWAFAKOM’ BY NIGHT AND KNOWS WHAT YOU HAVE DONE BY DAY TIME, THEN RAISES YOU UP TO FULFILL A DETERMINED TERM”.  (S: 6 A: 60)

It is clear that the disciples and his followers of Jesus called themselves Muslims, and so were the followers of Allah the prophets and messengers peace upon them all, the are all Muslims (Submitters)
