145- IT IS NOT FOR A SOUL TO DIE WITHOUT ALLAH’S PERMISSION, ITS TERM IS WRITTEN AND FIXED.  THOSE WHO DESIRE THE REWARD OF THE LOWER LIFE, WE WILL GIVE THEM FROM IT AND THOSE WHO DESIRE THE REWARD OF THE HEREAFTER, WE GIVE THEM FROM IT, AND WE WILL REWARD THOSE WHO ARE THANKFUL.

The life span of every soul is determined to a predetermined term.  It is determined before the person is delivered as a newly born, while in the mother’s womb.  Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “When forty days has passed for the clot (in the mother’s womb), Allah sends is an angel to shape it and create its hearing, vision, skin and bone.  Then he (the Angel asks): ‘O Lord, a male or female?’, and you Lord will decide what he wills and the angel writes it down.  Then he says: ‘O Lord, what is its provision’, and your Lord will decide what he wills and the angel writes it down.  Then the angel leaves with the paper in his hand, neither does he add nor take away from it”.  (M: Qadar; 3)

No one is to die before his time and the end of his term.  During our life, we live on Earth.  The life is the place for doing deeds, and the Hereafter is the place for recompense and no deeds.  We are given a small share of the recompense in this life, particularly those who seeks the pleasures of this life only.  Allah the Highest said: “HE WHO DESIRES THE LOWER LIFE, WE HASTEN TO GIVE HIM WHATEVER WE WILL TO WHOEVER WE WILL, THEN WE MAKE THE HELL-FIRE HIS TO BURN IN, DESPISED AND HELPLESS * AND HE WHO DESIRES THE HEREAFTER, AND STRIVES FOR IT AS HE OUGHT TO, AND IS A BELIEVER, FOR THOSE, THEIR STRIVING WILL BE REWARDED * WE GIVE THESE AND THOSE OF YOUR LORD’S BOUNTIES, FOR YOUR LORD’S BOUNTY IS WITHOUT LIMIT * SEE HOW WE FAVOUR SOME TO THE OTHERS, INDEED THE HEREAFTER IS HAS GREATER STATUS AND IS A GREATER FAVOUR”.  (S: 17 A: 18-21)

Those who desire the lower life only, get the reward for any good deed they do in this life, and none in the Hereafter, which is greater in quality and quantity, and is eternal. Allah the Highest said: “BUT YOU PREFER THE LOWER LIFE * WHILE THE HEREAFTER IS BETTER AND MORE LASTING”.  (S: 87 A: 16, 17)

Then Allah the Highest rewards the thankful.  “AND WE WILL REWARD THOSE WHO ARE THANKFUL”

Giving thanks to Allah for the greatest bounties of His Faith, Prophet, Book and for guiding us to his faith and for guiding us to His fait, for we never would have been guided had He not guided us.  Giving thanks to Allah is not just by saying thank you, but by fulfilling the obligations and duties of this Faith.  By obeying and not disobeying Allah the Highest and His messenger prayer and peace upon him.  This is how we should express our thanks.
