48- ALLAH DOES NOT FORGIVE FOR PARTNERS TO BE WORSHIPPED BESIDES HIM, BUT FORGIVES WHATEVER ELSE FOR WHOM HE WILLS, FOR HE WHO WORSHIPS PARTNERS BESIDES HIM; HE HAS COMMITTED A GREAT SIN.
This meaning of this Ayah is almost repeated in Ayah 116 of this Sorah. This Ayah carries: - A stern warning for the disbelievers, that their disbelief will not be forgiven. - A message of hope for the believers, that their sins might all be forgiven. Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him was with Moaz Ibn Jabal who reported: “I was riding behind Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him on a donkey called Afeer. He said to me: O Moaz, Do you know what is the right of Allah upon his slaves and what are the rights of the slaves upon Allah? I said: Allah and His messenger know best. He said: “The right of Allah on His slaves is to worship him and worship no one besides his, and the right of the slaves upon the most Exalted and Majestic is that Allah does not punish those who do not worship partners besides him. He (Moaz) said: Shall I give people the good news. Allah’s messenger said: “Do not tell them the good news, for they might rely on it”. (M: Eman; 49 & B: Lebas; 101& T: Eman; 18 & Ma: Eman; 35) Also Abu Zar El-Gefari Allah’s messengers companion reported that Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “There is not a slave who says ‘There is no God other than Allah and dies with this belief, who will not enter the Paradise’. Abu Zar said: Even if he steels and commits adultery?’ He said: “Even if he steals and commits adultery”. Abu Zar said: Even if he steals and commits adultery?” He said: “Even if he steals and commits adultery”. Abu Zar said: “Even if he steals and commits adultery”. He said: “Even if he steals and commits adultery, and despite of Abu Zar”. (B:Lebas;24 & M:Eman;153-154 & T:Eman;18 & A:5;152 6;166)
