Nesae 51-52

51- HAVE YOU SEEN THOSE WHO WERE GIVEN A SHARE OF THE BOOK; THEY BELIEVE IN SORCERY AND EVIL, AND SAY TO THOSE WHO DISBELIEVE THAT THEY ARE BETTER GUIDED THAN THE BELIEVERS.

52- THEY ARE THOSE ALLAH CURSED, AND THOSE ALLAH CURSED YOU WILL FIND THEY HAVE NO SUPPORTERS.

Historical background:

The Jews of Medina went to Makah after the battle of Ohud, headed by a man called Kaab Ibn Al-Ashraf.  Their mission was to persuade the Makans and their allies to raise a huge army to annihilate the Muslims in Medina.  The Jews promised to help that army against thee Muslims when it arrives, as the Jews lived in Medina with them.  This was immoral of the Jews on two accounts: First: The Jewish tribes had a treaty with the Muslims not to help outside forces against each other.  Second: The Jews had longer standing treaties of alliance with the Arab tribes.

Abu Sofian the chief of Makah was surprised of the stand of thee Jews against the Muslim.  He asked Kaab Ibn Al-Ashraf as to whom they consider to be better guided, the Muslims or the Idol worshippers of Makah?  Kaab Ibn El-Ashraf said that he considered the Idol worshippers of Makah to be better guided than Muslims.

Allah the Highest sent these Ayahs down to tell the Muslims about what the Jews did and said.  They are also a rebuke of the Jews for their disbelief and hypocrisy.

This is why they incur Allah’s Curse and Anger, which has been mentioned in Sorah Al-Fateha before.  Those incurring Allah’s curse are deprived of his Mercy on the Day of Judgment, and no one will be able to support them then.

This applies to the Muslims too, particularly that there are a number of Muslim sects.  Nothing equals the belief in Allah the Highest and His messenger Mohamed prayer and peace upon, even we have some differences with.  Whether they are Sunni or Shiite, and whether they are Maliky, Hanbaly, Shafae, or Hanafi are all Muslims.  As long as they believe in Allah the one and only God and that Mohamed prayer and peace upon him as his last prophet and messenger, they are a part of the Muslim nation.

Also the Muslims have one God to believe in, with no partners of any shape of form.  Any partners we obey besides Allah the Highest is wrong and evil.  Believing in them will lead us to incur Allah’s anger and wroth.
