123- IT IS NOT WHAT YOU NOR WHAT THE PEOPLE OF THE BOOK HOPE, WHOEVER DOES EVIL WILL BE RECOMPENSED FOR IT, AND WILL NOT AN ALLY OR A SUPPORTER TO HELP HIM INSTEAD OF ALLAH.
124- BUT HE WHO DOES GOOD DEEDS WHETHER MALE OR FEMALE, WHILE HE IS A BELIEVER, THOSE ARE ADMITTED TO PARADISE, AND WILL NOT BE DEALT WITH UNJUSTLY IN THE LEAST.
125- AND WHO’S RELIGION IS BETTER THAN HE WHO SUBMITS HIS FACE TO ALLAH, WHILE HE IS RIGHTEOUS AND DOING GOOD DEEDS, AND FOLLOWED THE RELIGION OF IBRAHIM, PURE IN FAITH, AND ALLAH TOOK IBRAHIM FOR A KHALIL (CLOSE COMPANION)
126- AND TO ALLAH BELONGS ALL THERE IS IN THE HEAVENS AND IN THE EARTH, AND ALLAH EMBRACES KNOWLEDGE OF EVERY THING.
The Muslims and the Jews argued about who is better. The Jews said that they are God’s Chosen people, and that only they will be forgiven and will enter the Paradise, and that they may only be punished in the Hell-Fire for numbered days.
On the Other hand the Muslims said that they are the last nation which has the last of the prophets and messengers, and the last Book, the Quran. The Quran is Allah’s last word and corrects the perversions done to the previous books.
Allah the Highest answers both groups saying that:
1- Every one will be recompensed in full for what they do of good deeds or evil deeds. As we know Allah the Highest recompenses some in this life and others in the Hereafter.
When this Ayah was sent down, many Muslims were upset and got worried about the punishment of the Hereafter. Abu Bakr Asked Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him: “But who amongst us did not do evil deeds, and will we be punished for what we did?” Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “As for you and the believers Abu Bakr; you will be recompensed for it in this life, until you meet Allah with no sin, while others (the disbelievers), their evil deeds will be gathered for them to be recompensed for on the Day of Resurrection”. (T: Tafseer Sorah 4; 25)
There are however some advantages for the good deeds:
2- The good deed may wipe off the bad deed. Allah the Highest said: “INDEED, THE GOOD DEEDS CLEAR AWAY THE BAD DEEDS”. (S:11 A:114)
Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him also said: “And follow the evil deed with a good deed, and it will erase it totally”. (T: Ber; 55 & Da: Reqaq; 74 & A: 5; 153)
3- Allah the Highest increases and multiplies the good deeds, while the bad deeds are not increased and may be forgiven.
Then Allah the Highest tells us about the Right Religion. It is the Religion of Ibrahim who named us MUSLIMEEN, and whom Allah the Highest called our father. Allah the Highest said: “THE RELIGION OF YOUR FATHER IBRAHIM, HE NAMED YOU MUSLIMEEN BEFOREHAND”. (S: 22 a: 78)
Also we are the closest to Ibrahim, for Allah the Highest: “THE CLOSEST PEOPLE TO IBRAHIM ARE THOSE WHO FOLLOWED HIM, THIS PROPHET AND THOSE WHO BELIEVE, AND ALLAH IS THE ALLY AND SUPPORTER OF THE BELIEVERS”. (S: 3 A: 68)
The religion Of Ibrahim is the religion of believing in and worshipping one and only God, with no partners, wife or a child. He begotten none, neither was He begotten, and has not equal or match. There is nothing like Him, nothing before Him and nothing after Him. He is the Beginning without a beginning and He is the End without an end.
Ibrahim peace upon him worshipped Allah the Highest and did not worship anything besides of any form or capacity. Our messenger prayer and peace upon him followed on the Path Ibrahim and completed the faith.
Then Allah the Highest reminds us that all there is in the Heavens and Earth belong to him alone, and only Allah the Highest has full embracing knowledge of all there is in them, even inside us.
Nothing can be hidden from him, for to Allah the Highest every thing is revealed.
